Innovative Contribution to Teaching and Counseling:

With nearly about 30 years of counseling experience we have developed a training module which can be used as a group counseling program.  This training module can be used both as a remedial and preventive measure to cope with stress.  This is called ‘Stress Coping Through Personality Engineering’.

Using this module the students of psychology were trained to give counseling help to different target groups and individuals.

Using this module as a training program to the representatives of corporate organizations we were able to raise ‘Development Fund to the Centre for Criminal Justice’, and raised finances to organize an International Conference for one week

Indian Medical Association (Tenali Branch) considered this module as valuable and I was invited to give an oration lecture to the members of that medical association and presented a Gold Medal as recognition to the counseling services rendered.

Funding for the higher-education is generated from people either directly or indirectly.  Hence, the personnel involved in the field of higher-education need to work for the advancement of knowledge which could be utilized for the benefit of mankind.  In other words professionals involved in higher-education have the responsibility to strive harder both in teaching and research in various aspects relating to human life and return the benefits to them for the betterment of human life and society.

Note about Ph.D Dissertation:

Ph.D is in the area of the Psychology of Sleep and Dreams.  Title of the Dissertation is ‘Dream Content Transformation: An Empirical Investigation of Freud’s Secondary Revision Hypothesis’.  This involved having about 50 people sleeping in sleep lab with the  whole night sleep recordings for 11 nights each person.  Dissertation is based on nearly 2000 dreams collected under four different conditions. Comparisions are made to see how the immediately recalled dream reports are different from the dream reports collected after awakening period.  American evaluator of the thesis appreciated the work involved and suggested to the university to award Ph.D honors.  David Foulkes from Georgia Institute of Mental Heath said it is a good contribution to field of cognitive psychology.  Bill Domhoff from UCLA refered to this study in his book ‘The Meaning of Dreams’.
